Favourite Things Friday

I woke this morning  to the lovely thought that it's Friday which means if I can just survive today  I get two whole days off. That thought was a definite favourite this week. In the time I've been doing FTF I've often thought about making Friday my favourite thing but it just seemed too obvious . But I want to state now that Friday is absolutely one of my favourite things. If you'd like to join me in celebration of Fridays or to share another one of your favourite things, you can write your own  post and link up to this one  so we can come and share something you love .

I have a confession to make. I'm having an affair. Mr. P doesn't know but I'm pretty sure it wont be long before he twigs.

Normally I trip through life blithely eating my salt and vinegar chips and pigging out on cheese and gherkins and I'm happy. I'm a savoury girl. I can buy chocolate and it can sit in the cupboard for months. I can take it or leave it.

I think my love affair with chocolate started sometime around Easter. Being confronted by a mountain of that rich chocolately stuff in the form of Easter bunnies , Easter eggs and cream filled centres did something to my brain. I started eating and munched my way through approximately 43 kilos of chocolate and  I haven't stopped since.

All of a sudden I'm not fussy ...peppermint , rum and raisin , white , pineapple,  dark , milk, I'll eat them all ...at least before, I had standards. Lindt and M and M's were my chocolates of choice. Now I don't care. If it's chocolate I'll eat it. If you walk past me holding chocolate I 'll rugby tackle you to the ground to get it. When I'm shopping I bypass the fruit and vegetables and go straight to the chocolate aisle.

Aussie chocolate tastes different to other chocolate. I think it probably has extra sugar or something. I'm pretty sure it has mind controlling agents  in it to make you want more chocolate.

I've been communing with the snack box at work  several times a day  this week. People are starting to look at me like I have a problem. Eventually I just went and bought a secret stash to keep in my top drawer so I didn't have to keep walking back and forth to the kitchen. It's like trying to hide a drinking problem.

And last night I made some chocolate crunch ...melted chocolate , coco pops and raisins all mixed together - heaven.

Apparently Einstein was eating chocolate when he discovered the theory of relativity. Chocolate makes you smart. So theoretically if I keep eating it I may discover the solution to world peace....making chocolate the hero of not just my world , but everyone else's too. Oh chocolate -how I love you so . You're my favourite this week. (However next week when I jump on the scales cottage cheese and I may have to become more friendly -blerk)

Do you have a  favourite chocolate or like me do you love all creeds and colours?

Funnily enough I was just sitting thinking 'thank God it's Friday, just one more day to get through and then I can....' you know, just chill! So Fridays are turning into one of my very favourite things - or to be more precise Friday evenings.

I've gone right off chocolate - just doesn't do it for me the way it used to. Must be going through a weird thing cos even food doesn't do it for me anymore - I honestly can't think of a favourite food at the minute either. Now if we're talking drinks - Diet Coke - I think I'm addicted - well, I know I'm addicted lol.

And bed... bed is one of my favourite things too - you know when you first climb in and relax into a state of comfort. Yes, bed, to which I am going now :-)

Have a fun favourite things Friday and a fabbie weekend x

I think the answer to world peace may, in fact, be chocolate in large quantities. Therefore, you quite possibly have discovered that for yourself.

I am about ready to gnaw off an appendage if it tastes sweet, as I try to kick my sugar habit (I am still not counting dark chocolate though). I can't decide if I'm feeling pissy because I'm going through withdrawals, or if sugar truly has magical chemicals that make me feel better.

I think chocolate for sure has some kind of magical chemicals. I am apparently not eating enough. I buy the dark chocolate without milkfat or dairy products, although it says on the package it's manufactured in a facility that also processes milk and wheat, so for all I know, they lube the machines with butterfat and dust the conveyor belts with flour.

Chocolate is chocolate is chocolate.....and it is all good. Except for that awful compounded stuff, which is the work of the devil.

Dark chocolate...the darker, the better. I make a cake with Hershey's Special Dark chips and cocoa. It is so good you want to slap your grandma.

I like Friday's at 2pm when I walk in the door at home and know that I don't have to go to work for 2 whole days. Most of the time I don't mind work, but it is the driving to and from the gets me I hate that bit. Chocolate don't start me on chocolate if it is in the house I will eat it. Though the kids got some Melba eggs for easter and they are still here so I am a bit selective and the sugar free stuff I bought has only just been cracked and I only ate 2 squares but anything else would have been hoovered up.

Hahahahahaha! I love chocolate, my favorite is the Cadbury Flake candy bar that you can't really get here in the US. My dad is from Ireland and my aunt would sometimes send us a delicious box. I too love Fridays - even if it is only Thursday here...

Chocolate and Friday's they really do go together well - or they did in my previous life.

As work has been mostly non existent this year all days look pretty much the same and for some reason my body which has always enjoyed chocolate decided in January that enough is enough and I don't need it any more.
Dark is my favourite and I can still eat small amounts of it occasionally but M&M which I used to devour by the bag full just make me ill? Something about this year turning everybody up side down??
Hope your weekend is fabulous.

I can't wait for Friday to get here, Shay. This has been a long and crazy-busy week. If Friday is here that means Sunday's day of rest is right behind it.

Right now, I need some chocolate. Son#1 and Son#2 are having their School's Out Sleepover Bash. The tent is up and the boys are noisy. Chocolate is sure to soothe my nerves...that or Tequila. ;c)

PS...I think Aussie chocolate is fabulous! I had a very dear friend send me some to try. ;c) Happy Friday! Hope it's absolutely lovely for you.

Surely if you leave the chocolate in the kitchen drawer and have to go back and forth for it that deletes all the calories !

oh, Shay, you are just a riot! I have never been a fan of chocolate -- a bag of M & M's could last a couple of weeks....then I discovered white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.... and well, do not get between me and the easter peeps!

I love dark chocolate - the semi sweet stuff too. However, if a box of chocolates appears at the house, somehow I have to find the best one and I eat all the rest looking for it. That is if my husband doesn't get to it first. And candy bars .. there's KitKat, Three Musketeers, Twix, and HeathBars. and then chocolate milk and chocolate ice cream, or chocolate chip ice cream, or chocolate chunk ice cream .. or vanilla with chocolate syrup or a hot fudge sundae, or ... I am really hungry for chocolate now (before dinner I had some chocolate chips (for cookies) and then a spoonful of chocolate icing.) and now after all this chocolate talk I might have to get some more ...

Fridays are pretty popular around here too :)

Chocolate--I love it, but it doesn't love me if I eat too much of it. Stomachaches/cramping are not enjoyable so when I do occasionally indulge, I take it easy. I love Reese's and Snicker's bars and caramel filled chocolate. Yum. Just now I am off sugar so no chocolate for me. I once was a work snack box diver too. So glad that candy crack was given the boot from our office long ago!

I am hoping I can type this out before the drooling short circuits my keyboard....I think I need to try a large load of this said "Aussie chocolate" alongside an equally large sample of Canadian chocolate to be sure of a difference....perhaps we can extend our tea party to a tea AND chocolate party??

Love Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays and absolutely adore chocolate.
Milka and Lindt are great, so are M&M´s and Nutella - that is the absolute best..I could live on that stuff...and believe me..it is addictive.

What are you doing to me. My mouth is salivating just looking at those chocolates....definetly an addict talking.
Blogger is at it again....cna't leave comments on some blogs Arghh!!

So not fair Shay, we can't get Chokito bars here in NZ anymore and they are one of my favourites, besides Cherry Ripes of course. I am so jealous.

When I was working TGIF used to be our catch-cry but now that I'm retired life is one long holiday - FANTASTIC !!!
As for chocolate ... I love it too. We are trying to have only 3 squares of dark chocolate every night - for our health ! It seems that that little bit every day is enough for me and stops me pigging out on other stuff looking for something sweet.
I'm off to catch up on everything I've been missing out on while we were away.
Cheers
Helen

Fridays are a definite favorite in this house. Even if we end up trading work for Kiddos sports events.

Hard to resist good chocolate. Though the rising scales usaully keep my intake on the minimal side. Components in chocolate have been shown to alter brain chemistry, it's supposed to have mood enhancing properties. It's a good thing the powers tht be haven't declared it an illegal substance. How else would we deal with stress?

Okay, I just pictured you in my head for this post! I, for some reason, picture you talking very fast - describing your love for chocolate and trying to "score" some at work without anyone knowing. I picture you all hopped up on caffeine convincing us that chocolate has healing powers and inspires genius! Loved it!

I do hope you enjoy this weekend - and that you get some rest! I like chocolate, but only dark, and honestly not that often, either. I'm pretty strictly a savory kind of girl.

My name is Margaret and I'm a chocoholic.
Once upon a time any chocolate would do, except for the cheap and nasty stuff. I think I've overdosed and now finally my body has said, go for something else please, as chocolate doesn't seem to agree with me anymore. Well in large quantities at least, lol. Didn't stop me going to the Haighs shop today though.

As far as I'm concerned, when you add raisins, you are keeping it healthy so have at it! Lol

You are a girl after my own heart!
I love my chocolate - Kit Kat Caramel Chunky is my all time favourite but not adverse to eating any other type. I too am helping America recover from the GFC with craft purchases and I live in Adelaide!

As usual, I'm last again posting. I was just too busy yesterday. I worked for Hershey for a couple of years. I had my fill of chocolate at that time as we had our pick of what we wanted. I'm an Oh Henry or Sweet Marie fan myself, just not a chocoholic as you are. It's an addiction that I see many of the bloggers have, towhich there is no cure...aren't you happy about that now?
You are quite right that chocolate tastes vary in different parts of the world. In Canada for instance, the province of Quebec gets sweeter chocolate than say in Ontario. And Cherry Blossoms are their favourite bars...
Fun posting as usual Shay. So you must have chocolate ice cream as your fav, mine would be strawberry with pralines and cream coming a close second.

OMgolly! I'm in the process of giving up chocolate! I've got to go and have a cold shower now!

I can't believe you have hit the chocolate. I'm disappointed Shay. Here it's cheese and gherkins all the way. (Actually, that was my pre-dinner snack!) Oh. And a whip? Haven't seen one of those for years. One of my mum's favourites. Her fav alternated between whip and snickers.
