Kirsten's Chocolate Pudding Pie

Last night , at midnight my time , Kirsten posted this recipe for Chocolate Pudding Pie.

I was contemplating bed. But when I see  " Oreo's" and "Pie" in the same sentence I tend to get my second wind.

Given that  it was midnight and this recipe calls for some pre-prep , namely removing the guts from  a load of Oreo's, because we can't buy Oreo dust/crumbs here in Australia,   I decided to satisfy myself by doing that , eating aforementioned Oreo guts (yum) and  staggering  off to bed with a sugar headache and Oreo breath.

This morning I made the pie. And this is the end result. I want to point out that I am not a fan of cream, nor am I a fan of what American's call pudding (which is not what Australians call pudding) or mousse either.

However, this pie is completely and utterly sublime. And now I'm hoping not to eat very single piece of it all by myself.

Oh and in case you're wondering...this is what a pile of Oreo guts looks like.

Happy Saturday !

P.S. I'm pretty sure posting all these delectable recipes is part of Kirsten's ongoing plan to pork me up , so if we ever meet she looks lithe and thin and I look like a sherman tank...

Thanks for making that, I was just looking at the recipe on Kirsten's blog and contemplating making it. (snap again) Do you think it would be just as good using Chocolate Ripple biscuits? Ooooh that reminds me.... Chocolate Ripple cake, yummmmmmmmm.

Pretty sure choc ripple biscuits would be almost indentical.(Thats what I was going to do if I had no oreos in the house ) I'm pretty keen to do these as individual snacks in patty pans at some point, because they'd look so cute.

It seems that you've got her sussed with the fattening stuff!! The pie looks delicious though but I dare not make it because I KNOW I would eat every last bit... and chop anyones fingers off that came close!!

I'm so glad you liked the pie as much as we do!
It looks beautiful - and how can anything be bad with an oreo cookie crust? Sorry again for throwing all of my oreo guts away :)
Thanks for posting the pics!

You made half a pie at midnight? You. Are. The. Woman. BigB would wish he had married you if he read this.

Woah there Chicken, I had an ulterior motive. By starting the pie at midnight, I got to eat the inside of Oreo's before I went to bed in a sugar induced state...not one bit of the pie making process was done with others in mind. I saw an opportunity to eat the middle out of Oreo's without fear of retribution and I carpe diem-ed it.

Once again, food porn. And I love it. And I bet I can make it in the sugar free, lowfat version - minus eating the cookie guts, of course!

I'm fairly certain those Oreo guts would never have made it into the final dessert given I can't pass em up. Why waste time making something else with them...

whatever anyone calls it....this i believe: chocolate is one of a girl's best friends!!!!

true, this is sugar-overload, but hey, you won't eat it every day for the next year. enjoy!!!!!!

I would have made the same sacrifice.
That pie deserves your 100% effort.
Good job.

OMG that is almost as decadent as the Mud Cake in a cup recipe that someone emailed me recently! I think the preparation of the Oreo's for the chocolate pudding pie will be more fun tho, mmmmmmm Sugar!!
