Favourite Things Friday

Welcome to the first Favourite Things Friday for 2012 !

Favourite Things Friday is my version of a linky party where all you have to do is write a post about something that made your week a little brighter and share it with the rest of the Favourite Thing Friday crowd. It's a way to reflect on at least one positive in the week and to float blissfully towards the weekend. I'd love you to join us.

Unless you're from another planet you wouldn't be ignorant about the fact that I'm on holidays. Looooong holidays.  Let's face it , I think I mentioned it in just about very single post I did pre-Christmas and I had grand plans for my holidays which included a long list of things to do.

I've been on holidays now for just a smidge over two weeks and nothing on that list has been finished. Of course I'm not being helped by Little P, who doesn't understand I have a master plan. I spent most of yesterday changing Little P's jocks since we're hitting the toilet training pretty hard and he is currently having an accident approximately every 3 minutes.

One of the nice things about being on holidays is that there is always another day to do the things on my massive list of things I hope to eventually achieve. Another day to clean my house , another day to shop for a new car seat, another day to bind that quilt, another day to work out how to change that halogen recessed globe in my kitchen that burnt out a month ago. Holidays are meant to be as different as possible from your real life or what's the point?

So my favourite thing this week is chilling ...doing nothing, achieving nothing and dreaming of the day I'll start ticking things off my list ...eventually... because right now I have to go watch Shaun the Sheep with Little P and then make a triple layer chocolate cake.

First off, love the new blog decor, very classy and snazzy all at once.

I'm very envious of your extra long holiday. Not that I want to put evil thoughts in your head while you are off playing, but I went back to work after a 2 week holiday and wasn't sure anymore exactly what I did anymore. I can't imagine 6 weeks away.

At any rate fabulous FTF. Enjoy every minute of it!

I'm happy to hear you're chilling on your holidays. Sounds like you're having fun (well, except for the potty training maybe). The to-do list can wait. Enjoy the down time!

I am totally loving the new blog setup, particularly the disclaimer section. I aspire to 17 days without cooking...truly heroic!

SHAY...I love your blog and I love your meme. It is going to be a huge success...just will take a little time, spreading the word. I am taking your button home with me to live on my sidebar awhile.:)

I'm eight shades of jealous. Well, maybe only seven. Toilet training is not my favorite thing to do.

Love the new look around your blog.

Also, I just scrolled back to your last post. Holy mackerel! You finished eighteen quilts last year. That, right there, is proof of your super-stardom. You totally rock.

I am pretty sure Shaun the Sheep with Little P and chocolate should be on your to do list. In the meantime doing nothing sounds lovely!

Love the new decor, a favourite colour combo of mine, chocolate and strawberry, and the disclaimer is very very good too.
Yep 7 weeks of holidays, it will be interesting to see how you're going at the 5 week mark!
You and chilling just don't seem quite right together, I on the other hand have perfected chilling! I do hope you manage to chill a bit without going loopy for the next few weeks.
I love the way the three "You might also like" posts at the bottom of this post were all Slack Tea Thursday posts. I think the universe is trying to tell you something.

Yes I did start singing "I come from a land downunder" straight away and it is now stuck in my head. We must be on the same wave length becasue my FTF is about chilling too. Now you don't have to go and read it. I love chilling out without the feeling pressured to 'do' the next thing. Fabbo to be back!

Are you on holiday? Gosh, I didn't realise. You really ought to take it easy!
Love the new disclaimer - I laughed and showered Gordon with breakfast cereal!

Pink and Brown is a fav colour combination of mine. Looks good. I'm trying out the minamalist approach. Don't know how long that will last. I got to say I am loving just chillen but it all comes to an end on Monday when i am back to work but i think i might have a week off when the kids go back to school. Had a very minor "procedure" today and the local is starting to wear off so I won't play today. Did have a favourite the other day but it has disappeared from my brain lol so I will play next week.

I love Shaun the Sheep and chocolate cake. Little P is one lucky duck to have you as his nana!!

I plan to chill all weekend. No, not really. ☺ But I'm happy you can, and LOVE that it's your favorite.

Have you tried the peeing on Cheerios trick? Drop a Cheerio into the toilet and let Little P take aim. Worked with my boys. ☺

PS...Love your new look. One of my favorite color combinations. Happy Friday night, Shay! Hope you're sitting on the back veranda sipping on a cocktail.

Hmmmm, good idea about the Cheerios. I don't envy you...here's hoping he "gets it" real soon!
I'm personally thrilled you've been relaxing. I know you need a break.
I'm back from the land of no wifi and enjoyed catching up on your posts....my fave was the picture of your mom with the jello shots:)

Sounds fab! Love the grandbaby AND the triple chocolate cake - you must have been inspired by the gorgeous cook books you got for Christmas.

I had to laugh as this struck a cord - halogen lights - what a bugger. I have six under my high level cupboards and it took me ages to work out how to get into them. The bloody bulbs go so quickly until this week I only had one working out of six!

I don't know who you are, but you are one funny lady. I have read your previous posts and you have me in stitches. The way you word things just cracks me up. Thanks for brightening up my boring non-existent social life! You rock girl, you rock.

Oh you and your fancy holiday, I try not to think of you when I'm working.. Nah only joking! You deserve all those quiet, chillin out, nothing to do times. Enjoy every moment !!

Chilling is always on my favorite list, potty training, not so much, but having anyone in my life progressing in that area is a plus for sure! Send me a piece of that cake, and I'll do another of my favorite things, eat chocolate! Enjoy your holiday, and only do the fun things on that list, the rest will wait till after holiday!

My favorite thing this week is definitely the new iPad (and its cover!). I am typing this comment while on the toilet. How brilliant is that!?
