Slack Tea Thursday

As I was leaving work tonight a colleague suggested I have vodka for dinner  and my boss yelled out "But it's Slack Tea Thursday". My boss confessed to having wandered on over for a squizz after I talked about having a blog recently.  I don't talk about work much here because it's private and personal and who else would be crazy enough to work somewhere where a poke in the butt with a darning needle is a possibility. But today I want to share with you the fact that my boss (who shall remain nameless ) is the most awesome boss ever and that I never want to work anywhere else because I adore my job so much.

OK she's probably given up reading at this point so it's time for Slack Tea Thursday. I'm really super responsible at work  so I dont want to blow my cover ...

I've been thinking I'll start doing slack teas by colour. Green, Red, Orange, Yellow. What do you think? Unfortunately only fruits and vegetables come in some of those colours so I'd probably have to choke down something healthy. I'll give it some thought.  I decided tonight's tea should be the colour brown as a sort of trial run on the colour idea.

Appetiser - I even used a bowl because I have class. I un-classed up when I licked the crumbs from the bottom of the bowl.

Then I ate some out of the bag too...oh who am I kidding ? I pretty much ate the whole bag. They were too crunchy to resist.

I had been dreaming of these all day. 20 minutes in the oven. That's pretty slack. (And I do think these are the wings of a devil because they are just soooooooooo good. I was too scared to look at the fat content. Nothing remotely healthy could taste this awesome)

For those of you that are worried about my health ...I was going to dip the wing dings in ranch dip. But I resisted. (Actually it was at about that stage I realised the BBQ chips had made me rather full.  I was worried that if I tried to cram the ranch dip in my poor stomach as well  I'd chuck up) Frankly after 5 wing dings, 2 hash browns slathered in butter and a whole BIG bag of chips I'm still feeling rather bilious...

And here endeth this edition of Slack Tea Thursday ....I don't think I'll be eating breakfast tomorrow.

P.S. I know you want this bad Beck.

This looks like a really delicious dinner. I have never tried butter on hash brown, always figured they were greasy enough, but like Julia Childs said, "Everything taste better with butter!"

It is good you have a great boss and love your work. Those two things can sometimes be hard to find.

Not everything coloured is fruit and veg....red and green jelly frogs, for instance......

I ate most of the bag of chips and then went straight to dessert.

I have an awesome boss - she doesn't even do anything remotely creative - but she rings me up to make sure I know about craft shops if she sees one in her travels. Another spotter - gotta love that in a boss.

I think I'm going to throw up!
I love your slack tea thursdays, mainly because it makes me feel so much better, (except for todays combo). I will never be able to come up with such "interesting" combinations and when I am feeling lazy and having toast I know that Mrs P will be having something way worse.
I would normally agree with butter makes everything taste better, margarine is the work of the devil, but on hash browns? Eeeewww.
Are you sure we live in the same country? I have never heard of or seen Devil Wing Dings. Do you have a secret supermarket in SA that specialises in slack tea products? Do they deliver to Qld?

Jennifer you are a legend, red and green frogs woo hoo. How about jelly snakes, M&M's, Smarties, you can do blue food groups too, finish it off with some GI Lime cordial or blue cordial.
A pity Heinz stopped making that green coloured ketchup.

I love slack tea Thursday! (Hey! I just watched some Australian chick win the Comm Games 100M! I'm sure she doesn't even know what slack tea Thursday is!) I think I have had a slack tea night every day this week. It must be men's week here and my Bradley has cooked dinner every night, except tonight. Mr 16 cooked dinner tonight. Pretty slack on my behalf! (And trust me, there are no vegies when teenagers cook!) Chicken with udon noodles and Kool Mints for dessert. Hope you feel better tomorrow!

While it may look appealing (except slathering those hashbrowns in butter) I have to say, I'm on a health kick and only craved the chips and nothing more. :p

I think the idea of sorting by color is just too ambitious for slack tea thursday but up to you.

AND, I hope that compliment gets you a raise! LOL

Wow, I never thought of putting butter on hash browns - I love hash browns and I LOVE butter - what an exciting concept! P.S. I ordered some fabric online yesterday and now I am like you, anxiously awaiting the mail man...

I usually only add lots of salt to my hash browns,so it is definitely the slack tea method to add the butter. Yes, the fat content of any fried foods is frightening. I know that you do LIKE veggies so maybe that's enough?

P.S. It is really great to love your boss because it makes all the other work crap bearable. I had a great boss for 13 years.

The color thing might be difficult if you are truly against veggies, but there's nothing more slack than washing up some baby carrots (preferably before STT) and dipping them in dip or salad dressing. Peel an orange, and there you've got the whole orange colored STT.

Okay Kris wins with the cool mints for dessert and Michelle also wins because she's dipping carrots in salad dressing.

I'm left feeling woefully inadequate.

I am trying so hard not to eat chips! I could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So I had to stop buying them. My wonderful husband who is a truck driver has to purchase them on the road if he wants them!

seriously, that looks so good right now - I'm going to eat a cinnamon roll - yes, I made them again!
I wish I had bbq chips and wing dings, though - that sounds much better!

We're having Slack Tea Friday (although it is already Saturday Down Under). I wish we had some devil wing dings. I'll have to settle for some Ramen Noodles straight from the pan. No sense dirtying dishes unnecessarily.
