Friday Night Sew In

Thank you Kirsten for reminding me about Friday Night Sew In at 4.10pm Friday afternoon, because I'd completely forgotten. This week I would have lost my head if it wasn't screwed on.

I hopped on over to Handmade by Heidi and signed up in the nick of time.  Some creative focus and energy was just what I needed. I've been lacking in the creative department this week. Woefully.

My HST  blocks have been in a state of somewhat finished since March. Technically that made it a UFO because WIP's are projects you actually touch from time to time. A renewed interest in getting this monkey off my back means I reckon I can squeeze this one in as a finish for the end of the year if I try hard enough. I'm sorta kinda determined to make at least a few Christmas gifts this year.

Last night with the help of FNSI mojo  I managed to get ALL the blocks sewn together. That's right. All 50 of them.  I've decided to add two borders to this quilt instead so technically I'm done with the block making. Whooooooooooo Hooooooooooo!

Hop on over to Heidi's to see more creative genius.

P.S Still don't have hot water here. Although its warm enough to shower. Just.  We will be calling the electrician Monday. Arghhhhhh!

Love love love these. beautiful soft pastel colours, very pretty indeed.
I spent last night unpicking, lots of unpicking, so Friday night sew In would have been a disaster for me.
For someone who says they have so many things to finish, you have certainly accomplished an awful lot this week. I wish i had your energy levels..
Hope the weather warm up in the mean time so luke warm showers aren't so bad. FIngers crossed for your water heater.

Love the HST's! Congrats on getting those done - it always feels great to finish something doesn't it? I'm always amazed at the number of people that finish so many projects so quickly. I think I'm finally realizing that if something of mine goes into WIP then the likelihood of it coming out is slim!! Have a great weekend!

So pretty, Mrs. P. Very delicate. Way to go on getting all 50 blocks done!

Sorry you're still without hot water. :-(

Wow, you really got a lot of work done. Your pinwheels are beautiful and make me want to work on the ones I have started. Too many other projects are first though. So sorry to hear about the water situation. I always thought one of those outdoor showers would be cool, perhaps Mr. P should install one!

I wish I were spending my Friday night sewing. Instead, I am spending it killing 6 (count 'em, SIX) hours in the Quito airport waiting for my red-eye flight to Atlanta, only to then have a 3 hour layover before flying home. Please remind me why I like my job.

Anyway, yay for making progress with the HST. They are lovely!

I have never joined in a Friday Night Sew In but I think it looks like great fun! Your blocks are lovely and spring like.

Hope you get some hot water soon!
