Finished

My theme for this weekend was "finished " because I was desperate to finish something. Anything. I have so many things in states of "half finished" I'm feeling like a crappy failure.  I REALLY  want to start something new but promised myself I wouldn't start anything new until I'd finished something old. Or several old somethings. Let me just say promising yourself sucks.

Indy and Lola's quilt - Finished.

Devil's food cupcakes with chocolate maple icing. Ummmm...Started and Finished. Literally.

Mug Rugs 8 of them. Finished.

The Blackwood Chair.  Finished. Finally.

Sanding the desk- Finished.

My assistant sander. I'll mould that kid into a tradie yet. I'm starting early.

Sneak peek of yummy bits for the desk....

More painting...It's NEVER going to be finished. Confession: Mr. P did this painting. It was easier than listening to me whinge. These are meat safe bits. Yes. Still.

Started . Sanding the old door we brought home two weeks ago. Which at some point will mean more painting. And a lot more sanding. What was I thinking ?  I'm an idiot.

I'm so tired I can't even think about next week. No goals. No pressure.  I hope your weekend has been fabulously creative!

  1. Go to the top of the class ! You are one amazing woman!
Now I feel really lazy because I've done nothing but a bit of crochet today ( but I did change the sheets and wash them so I can have a point for that!).
I can't get over all the stuff you've finished - I think you must be hyperactive or perhaps you never sleep??!!
    Well done
    Cheers

  3. Hi Helen,

The door is going on the pantry. Mr. P is going to convert it to a slider and we're going to put some heavy duty fly wire behind it. I just fell in love with the detail in it and had to have it.

I have down time like everyone else. It's called blogging!

  5. Firstly let me say that you are the busiest person I know. Wow look at all those finishes, and you deserved some of those cupcakes after all that work.
I love the string quilt, it's so bright and cheerful, I hope Indy and Lola like it, and look after it!!!!!!
The chair is beautiful what a difference from before.
The sneak peak of the yummy bits looks exciting, can't wait to see what you do with them. I'm sure it will look gorgeous.
    I love the door.
Is that you or Miss P, all that rushing around is definitely good for you, your looking very spunky and youthful.
I think next week you deserve time out/off.
Unfortunately my weekend has not been fabulously creative, you have made up for my lack of finishes.

  7. Could you harness some of that energy and channel my way? Amazing finishes! I especially love the quilt and mug rugs. :o) All I managed to complete was the yard work and put up my Autumn Wreaths. I passed by my sewing room, gave it a small wave, and kept going. I think I've lost my sewing mo-jo along the way. Your finishes are tempting me to get back in there. Thanks for sharing! Happy end of Sunday! :o)

  11. Super Woman!!! Wow!! I hear ya on the painting -- it's not my thing more paint ends up on me than any given object -- when I mention the word - paint -- they run for the hill around here.

  14. The quilt is gorgeous! Congrats on all your successes. I'd tell you to eat another cupcake in victory but apparently you did that already. I don't think you'll really be able to take a whole week off creativity, but go ahead and try!

P.S. Love your labels on this post, LOL!

  15. How satisfying!!!! You rock and give me hope that I MAY finish a few things before the end of the year. The chair looks amazing and I am so impressed the you sand and paint - I did that when I was (much) younger - but not much - it's a manly job around here, but again, not much gets done...

  17. You amaze me over and over again...how can you get so many things done in just one weekend...all I got done was the back of my coat, a 50K bikeride and a few hours of work....your a super woman!!
Oh, and by the way...I know about those promises..been there - done that. and still dislike it, cause I'm not getting anything finished :-))

  19. Love the quilt! I am always impressed by your sanding/painting exploits too. I have had a do little weekend here. Sat in front of the machine yesterday and tried to quilt. Just wasn't happening so I gave up. Hey, for me there is always tomorrow. Hope you were able to get well rested for the week ahead!

  20. You got a lot finished! Indy and Lola's quilt is just so scrap happy, it warms my heart just to look at it.

The Blackwood Chair looks fantastic. Definitely worth the work, imo.

You've got so many other interesting and promising projects, that I know will turn out great.

All of my half-finished projects are packed. I can't tell you how much I miss seeing them and having them torment me with their half-finished-ness. I think I hear muffled laughter from time to time though.

  21. Forgot to mention the mug rugs--wonderful! Do you just use one piece of batting in them? Or more?

  22. Very impressive. Love the door and the chair and have wanted a meat safe for ever but there is no where to put it would love it filled with quilts. My finish for the weekend was 2 weeks worth of ironing which means I don't have to rush back from sewing tomorrow to do it. Yeah, too bad I have no idea what I am going to be doing at sewing tomorrow.
