Slack Tea Thursday

I think I may be running out of slack ideas to have for Thursday Tea. (Gasp) Kidding. I don't think I'll ever run out.

Secondly I think I may be pregnant. There can be no other explanation for  tonight's  Slack Tea Thursday. And if I am pregnant, I'm going to be famous and I need to find a manger to give birth in. And then explain the miracle of immaculate conception to my husband.

I've noticed that if you give food things fancy names nobody notices how crap they really are. The French do it all the time. Case in point - Escargot. So I present to you "Toasted Chocolate Rice with Frothy Milk Jus" and "Marshmallow Tour avec Chocolat Fudge Sauce". Sounds classy doesn't it? Like I spent hours in the kitchen working my little fingers to the bone. Just like Pioneer Woman.

In reality it's a bowl of Coco Pops with home brand milk and marshmallows  on a plate with chocolate ice cream topping.  Yes, really.  I ate a pickled onion during prep, so I could say I had an appetiser. That's a three course meal.   Did I ever tell you that the first gift Mr. P ever gave me was a box of Coco Pops? He's a true romantic at heart.

This is a normal person's food pyramid. I'm pretty sure mine is inverted.  Because healthy eating  is clearly not a priority for  me. As evidenced by all my Slack TeaThursday posts.

On the up side the amount of chemical preservatives in coco pops will ensure that my insides stay young for a lot longer than my outsides  ...and with the amount of sugar I just ate  I probably wont need to sleep again until about say ...Tuesday.

But the marshallows were fat free. And fruit flavoured. As far as I'm concerned that's practically a fruit salad. And I think they missed the 6th food group off that pyramid. Chocolate should have a part of the pyramid solely dedicated to it.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go and eat some pickles and yoghurt.

Oh and all those people that keep suggesting I eat ice cream for Slack Tea Thursday ...I don't eat ice cream. Yep I'm a complete weirdo and I feel kind of bad that your ice cream fantasies will never be fulfilled via my  blog. So here ya go...knock yourself out.

P.S. You're all still reading  because you were waiting for the P.S. I'm not really pregnant bit aren't you?

Oh and Miss P thought the Marshmallow Tower rocked. I had to wrestle her to the ground in a rugby tackle to get my fork back.

Do you think your diet has any bearing on your health? I don't know if a diet featuring lots of Coco Pops helps with warding off germs but I guess the calcium from the milk is good for you !!!
Cheers
Helen
PS I would probably need a packet of chips after all that sweetness!

Personally, I'm wondering how you ever let Miss P get close to the tower in the first place. What, were you bucking for mum of the year by sharing? LOL

I just have to say, all of yout Slack Tea Thursday posts have had a wonderful effect on me. I read these first thing in the am on my Thursday and feel like I've had a serious amount of junk already that day so I start planning good meals for the family for the night.

Of course, it doesn't carry over to the football weekend when I turn into the cliche. A beer drinking, cussing, chip and hamburg eating chump! :D

I'm in sugar shock as I type! LOL I'd make myself a Chocolate Tower of Marshmallows if I didn't think my kids would eat it first. Then my entire day would be spent chasing them down, as they'd be running circles round the house. :o) I'm hungry now. I'm off to find the Froot Loops. Happy Thursday almost Friday! :o)

Yumm, although I think you are pushing the limits of slack tea with a tower of marshmallows. There was far too much effort in making a tower, although I must say it does look seriously impressive.
I like your food group pyramid pic, check out the chocolate milkshake, the biscuits, what looks like a donut (but is probably a bagel) and a huge chocolate chip muffin. The packet of chips is at the pointy end, that should be down with the bread, cereal, donut and taco, or at the very least with the vegetables.

Hi to Miss P.

I don't eat ice cream either. Well, I do, but very rarely--like once a month, if that. I have been known to roast miniature marshmallows over candles though.

Here I thought Thursday Tea was the one with the least effort....this looks like you were a whirling frantic fanatic female in the kitchen....

You used a FORK for your Marshmallow Tower??? Isn't this "Slack" Tea Thursday. I would have thought fingers would have been just fine for that.... And one less utensil to wash later.... ;)

I'm happy you don't like ice cream - means more for me!

I Love the way you photographed and named your tea today - looks delicious and with those names sounds perfect.

By all those people who keep suggesting ice cream for slack tea, do you mean me? Thanks for the faux ice cream sundae, but you can leave the cherries off next time and perhaps add some crushed up Oreo's on top.

Since you don't do ice cream, tonight's Slack Tea is my favorite ever. It was absolutely perfect: . . . chocolate and more chocolate. It doesn't get better.

Oh. I was going to suggest one of our favourite coco pop recipes for you, but you won't like it. My kids often have coco pops and ice cream for breakfast. They tell me it's almost milk.

I did like your photography. It should have been step-by-step though if you want to be the Pioneer Woman. Seriously!

Hope you are feeling better now!

You never fail to crack me up. I adore the French names you just gave to that crap you ate. Perfect!

I think my blood sugar goes up just reading your posts. :-)

For goodness sake 'Mary' I just spat my chocolate Special K all over the kitchen table (just missed the computer)...PREGNANT!!! You sure have a way with words ;-0

Loving the food pyramid and the marshmallow tower....I don't eat icecream either unless its that nice chocolate soy stuff!

Hope the coughing fits are getting less xx

I've been thinking for quite some time that maybe we were soulmates, but alas, you don't eat ice cream. I guess some things are never meant to be.
