Reality...

When you think about it -most of life is made up of mundane every day tasks. The weekend was full of those kind of tasks and about getting ready to return to the real world...because today I go back to work - hows that for a dose of reality?

I'd really like to come up with a way to maintain the feeling of "anything is possible" that I have when I'm on holidays . I love just pottering about , having creative ideas float through my head because there aren't 234 other things going through it, and thinking "I can do that tomorrow" instead of "if I don't do that right now it wont get done".

Time just slips away when you're on holidays....I'm not sure where the last three weeks have gone or exactly what I've done in them either. I made jam and finished a few quilts, I went away for a few days and spent money on house decor but what else did I fill my time with?

So yesterday, I washed clothes, and tidied the house and I cleaned out the fridge and the freezer and realised that my freezer appears to be the halfway point for dying bananas before they end up in the bin...and also that somehow they must breed while in a state of suspended animation because I'm sure I didn't put 20 of them in there...

I spent some time playing with this project, sewing binding. Much of my spare time last week was taken up with copious amounts of quilting on this project and I can't wait to show it to you. For the first time ever I'm completely happy with my quilting on a project.

And I found my key card for work so I can actually get into the building this morning. I did think about calling in and saying that I couldn't find it therefore couldn't come to work but I suspect my boss wouldn't fall for that one...she's pretty clever at reading between the lines.

The main reason I've popped in this morning is to show you a baby quilt I'm gifting today which is made from vintage chenille from my stash. I love making girly quilts and this one was a joy to make. I am in love with the stripey binding. It's also another finish from my Finish Along List for this quarter. That's three done from 7. Surely this creative streak will have to end soon?

Stick around for Cocktail Wednesday later this week . I have a feeling I'm going to need a drink by mid week....lets the games begin!
