Favourite Things Friday

Welcome to Favourite Things Friday. Yes- I'm back. Yes-I'm in one piece. Yes-I'm exhausted.

I know you're all expecting a fun filled post about my holiday with Little Miss Sunshine as my favourite thing this week so I'm going to fly in the face of convention and expectation and give you something  different. My time with Little Miss Sunshine deserves it's own special post so until my brain cells regenerate sufficiently for me to write a coherent post you're going to have to wait.  I'm still in holiday mode or at least trying to be. Little P hit my house like a whirlwind on Wednesday a mere 12 hours after I arrived home and it's been utter chaos ever since.

I have been blathering on for at least 6 months about wanting a new laptop/notebook/I pad/tablet. Do you like how decisive I am? I loved the idea of being able to wander round the house and access the internet in the toilet, the bedroom, and sitting on my backside on the lounge. The idea of not having to run backwards and forwards to the computer room to see what the next step in a recipe was seemed like an added bonus too. I reckon I waste about three hours a week doing that. My current laptop is about 5 years old, weighs approximately 60 pounds and is clunky and huge. I bought it from Noah who had it on the Ark and sold it to me cheap.  As so, for my birthday this year Mr. P gave me perfume and a voucher to go buy myself a laptop/I pad/tablet/notebook.

I've been debating what mode of portable technology would suit me best. What would reflect my personality ? What would make it look like I know what the hell I'm doing? What are all the young hip things using? What can I use without going back to university to get a degree in computer geekness?  Sara and I exchanged several emails about the relative merits of each during which she tried to help me by explaining technology but it just made my head hurt a LOT like when I have to do maths, or think serious grown up thoughts.

I finally bit the bullet after having a play with one of these while I was away and bought this on Wednesday.

Best .Thing. Ever.
Is it wrong to want to marry my Ipad? I'm sleeping with it and Mr. P is starting to get suspicious. Anyone want to Face Time? (See! I even know the lingo!)

If you'd  like to tell me all about your favourite piece of technology or any other thing that floated your boat this week, write your own post and link it up so uber cool people can pop on over to your place for a squizz.

You're back! I'm doing the "happy dance" ☺ I'm also in total LOVE with your iPad! Fabulous favorite! Happy Friday! ☺ Is that too many exclamation points in one comment?

Oooh I am so jealous!! ;-) I have been trying to decide if I need one of those too but I am a Libran so I take twice as long as you to make up my mind!

Missed you bunches! Hope you can read blogs and make witty comments all over your house now, but the toilet? --really didn't need that image in my head, thanks a lot.

No Ipad or Ianything in my life. I'm with people older than Noah since I don't even have a laptop.

very cool! I haven't yet taken the plunge. I have a macbook that I really love .. I've had it about five years now and it's still working well. As a matter of fact, everyone in my house doesn't like Apples but they all seem to use my laptop anyway.

Welcome back!

Hm..I wonder whether I should be happy for you or hate you for having an I pad...lol..O.K. I guess you deserve it. Glad to hear you´re back in one piece...

Reading this post from my iPad, but the original version so no face time from me. I love my iPad and now you too have crossed over to the Apple side. Woohoo! If I had the money I'd have Apple everything. Unfortunately I don't have the money - yet!

Lovely to have you back. And looking forward to the 'What we got up to' post!

We have 3 laptops in my house between 2 of us so when my partner came home with an iPad I rolled my eyes! That was until I got to play with it! I love using it! It's like picking up a glossy magazine versus a book. I can't imagine doing lots of typing on it though, will you use it to write blog posts?

I look over the shoulders of fellow commuters using their tablets everyday - I do not need to be that connected to technology.
Enjoy your new 'toy'.

My favourite and best bit of technology would have to be my husband, he is a computer technician, he builds them he fixes them, he knows them inside and out (he dosnt sleep with them, he sleeps with me)I LOVE HIM VERY MUCH, although he dosnt do regular updates of himself he is always in the know which allows me to be a complete computer retard. So apart from my microwave he is my favourite piece of technology.

Now you've made us all jealous! Lucky you with your ipad. We are planning on buying one before we go overseas again ( whenever THAT might be !!). They certainly look cool.
Glad to have you back and can't wait for all the news of your holiday.
Cheers

Enjoy the ipad - I want one but can't justify it to myself. I even have a little notebook for when I'm travelling that I got free when my Mum won it in a raffle. It looks seriously uncool compared to the ipad, but it does what I need when away.

Can understand the ipad love thing - my youngest has one to work on for school - how cool is that!?

My hubby loves his iPad, so I will probably get one of those too - except I don't think I could load my EQ 7 on it - so I am still undecided... (I don't actually know why I would care about that, since I can't even figure out how to USE EQ7...)

I have to say, you always make me laugh. Thanks!

I've been in love with my iPhone since I got it for Christmas 2 yrs ago. I feel like a cheating wife when I think about getting an iPad. It will have to be when "death do us part" :)

Just linked up about my Quilts for a Cause for Rainbow Hospice. My Mom and I made it together.
Thanks for hosting!

Can you see the drool dripping off my chin and shorting out my computer? See? If I had an iPad, that wouldn't happen. NEEEEEED one. On my Christmas list, but may not be able to hold out until then......

I have started to wonder how my life continues without an i-anything!
Good to have you back - look forward to hearing about your week away.

Love Love Love my husbands iPad I bought him for Christmas last year. You made a great choice.

LOVE IT! Now we can face time in the kitchen, dining room, toilet? I'd say eww but frankly I have no shame and you are in healthcare so there's nothing sacred anymore...

I've heard that I-pads are uber-cool! I have a Netbook, not as up there as an I-Pad, but as it is hooked into the wireless network in our house, I could use it on the toilet if I wanted to. :-)

Still like my big desktop screen for reading blogs and viewing quilts though.

I know what you mean - I am in love with my iPad too. o:)

Major Ipad envy, and holiday envy, think I would have enjoyed your's more. I had every intention of eating healthy that lasted 5minutes after we got to the apartment and headed to the surf club for the "BIG BREAKFAST.

Beware. You will now have a new addiction. My iPad gets more attention than my children. Yay for you! But beware, it likes to misspell things in ways that end up being awkward for you.

So jealous. But in a happy-for-you kind of way. I love my little iPod and have wanted an iPad since they came out. Sigh. You lucky girl. Glad you love it!
