Pyjama Party Sunday

This post is brought to you by Pyjama Party Sunday. Pop on over and have a look at how other people spent their day.

I hope you haven't dropped by to see any amazing craftiness emanating from the weekend because you're going to be really disappointed. I know people think I live a wild and crazy life but I spent most of my weekend organising things. It didn't leave much time for crafty pursuits. BORING!

My day started early by  turning on the computer when I got up which is what I do every morning. I ended up fluffing  around for two and a half hours on Blogger commenting on posts , seeing what people had been up to and then responding to emails. Sometimes I think blogging is like having a second full time job.  However I love reading your posts so I keep coming back. Plus when I get up at 5am it's too quiet to do anything else.

By 7.30 I was ready for action. I tore myself away from the computer and did some sewing for an hour.

Confident in the knowledge I'd get back to sewing after I'd done some chores, I pressed on and did 30 minutes  of tidying up. Someone wanders around this house making mess....enough said.

Inspired by Sara who cleaned out her wardrobe this week I decided to do the same. I felt the hour spent would be a worthwhile investment since I've been wearing the same 6 outfits for weeks because I cant find any of my clothes in there. So dragged it all out and chucked it on the bed ...the floor...the chair...and discovered I have way too much stuff.

3 hours later ...

Somewhere in there somewhere I stopped for brunch so I could find the strength to continue.

Then I spent 15 minutes coming up with my menu plan for the week. Can you tell I wasn't feeling creative?

Then I rewarded myself with 30 minutes on the computer...fabric shopping. I figured I deserved it. Plus I hadn't bought anything for two whole weeks which could just be a personal best.

I cleaned out my handbag (which is actually more the size of a suitcase) And then I really lashed out and checked that all my pens work ....I counted them. I have around 200 which is probably more pens than I'll use in my lifetime.  These are just the ones I dragged out of my handbag.

Then I defluffed and sticky papered all the dog hair off just about every piece of knitwear I own  and sewed some buttons on things that I haven't been wearing because they were button-less. I know - you're asking yourself how I could hack this crazy pace.

I never did get back to  any fun sewing and this post was about as exciting as my Sunday. I fell asleep at 8.30pm on the lounge,  exhausted ...

Let's hope slightly more crafty activity occurs next weekend  because frankly this weekend was a bust.

An hour of sewing is something at least. Love the polka dot furniture!

somehow I missed the hour of sewing in there with all the other stuff you did .. however, the time spent cleaning this weekend will free you up for at least the next few months so sew. time well spent I say.

Now I need to get to work cleaning up here, so I can get some sewing done in my life too!

Ahhhh it will feel great when you get up in the morning and look at all of the tidiness and it's gotta look scary before it looks good (and you had some seriously scary wardrobe shots there)! I've spent my weekend doing pretty much the same as you but you end results look way better than mine :-)

I spent the weekend swanning around, not much crafty stuff and no cleaning, washing or anything like that, so now I'm going to have to play catch up.
At least with all the organising you achieved you are well and truly set for months now and can sew to your hearts content.
Darn it I missed out on Sunday dinner, but will pop over for Fri and Sat thanks. I'll bring my own salad!!!

Sorry that didn't sound like much of a party. We had a week of swimming as squid had a cold so stayed in bed till 9 and then did a little shopping at Harbour Town, then came home had lunch and downloaded a couple of period pieces on Itunes and watched them and stitched most of the afternoon ignoring the housework lol.

Wow - I feel exhausted just reading what you accomplished! It could be worse you know. Skype is another way to eat up time on the computer. ;-)

Your sewing time was well utilised those reds and blacks are looking very good together.
Can't wait to see the fabric you managed to purchase in your well earned break.
Enjoy the tidiness.

You always amaze me. I am not a domestic goddess and would never in a million years clean out my wardrobe. That sort of thing happens when you move!!!!!!!! Doesn't it? I have a friend who is similar to me and we both say if a car pulls up out the front we run around like mad things throwing things in cupboards or other rooms while they walk to the front door.

I have to say, that sounds like a dream day for me. Sad, but true. You made real PROGRESS....would love to do the same, but the little humans are quicker than quick and undo all my good intentions so we just live in squalor.

200 pens? Impressive! And 2 weeks without fabric shopping would also be a best for me. BUT I do recall you mentioning a certain 27 yards you bought last time, so I GUESS that could hold you!

p.s. veryveryvery excited about my chocolates!!

Yes, but don't you feel better being all tidied up and organized? And you've clearing the way for fun new things to come into your life. That's how I look at it anyway.

PS - That's a lot of pens in one purse!

I should be doing the same with my wardrobe, I could probably take at least 1/2 of it to charity for not fitting and also I just seem to wear jeans and boots with a cardi in winter so why do I have all that crap in my wardrobe???

Love your lounge, looks so cool!!

I LOVE that you showed the 'before' and 'after' photos of the place - perfect! Plus, I can always get more crafty stuff done when it starts out clean!

That was why I had a clean out too... It seemed silly to be wearing the same few things over and over and for them not even be in my closet. I feel better now that I've gotten rid of so much stuff.

Oh my..you make me feel bad...I have to really clean out my wardrobe and my purse....don´t even remind me. And be happy that you got an hour of sewing in..better than me :-)

Hey I've got that same messy person at my house....unfortunately it's me!!
Wow you really got a cracking pace on. I am tired just reading it. It does make you feel great though after a big tidy up and purge. Well done!

Sounds like you had a productive Sunday. I only clean my purse when I am changing it and I only do that once or twice a year! I recently cleaned out my closet, but only because things were falling out of it and I couldn't get the door closed!

I have been more crafty than bloggy lately, but I miss blogging and hope to get back to it soon!

Well one hour of sewing counts. At least you have something to show for your Sunday, unless it gets recluttered about as quick as you unclutter it. Which happens a lot at my house.

Hey! At least while you were organizing and mending you were touching fabric the whole time. I think that counts.

Umm, I think you're addicted to pens.

if you were pregnant I'd say you're nesting! :)

I bet you feel so much better having achieved all of your organizing.

I think your menu looks yummy! (especially that roast chicken) :)

Shay, have you never heard of sitting around drinking a cup of tea/coffee and reading the Sunday papers? Girl, you have to learn to RELAX !!

You are just far too industrious for a Sunday. Harrumph! ;-)

I think blogging is at least a part time job. Can you come over and do my closet too? The hardest part is deciding what to get rid of. I'm impressed that you got it all done in one day. Someone goes around making messes in my house too. I think it's Eleanor Burns as I keep finding fabric scraps on the floor.

If only we could split ourselves in two and let the part of us that loves to clean and organize be in charge of that while our crafty selves got on with the crafting.

Glad to hear your pens are all organized and that you only have working ones.

P.S. I'd rather make a whole new garment than sew a button back on. It is so much more fun that way.
