Favourite Things Friday

Welcome to Favourite Things Friday .

Friday is the day we give thanks that it is indeed Friday ...the last working day of the week. And what a week it's been. Bizarre sleep, insane work hours and constant running just to keep up.  I dont mind admitting I'm hanging out for the weekend.

I was emailing a friend a  couple of weeks ago when she asked me about the four legged members of the Pyjamas household. This got me to thinking that I am a bad mother because Indy, Lola, Mordecai and Moo hardly ever get a look in on my blog.  So this week I'm sharing them with you as my favourite thing because my pets deserve their own post (I cant believe I haven't  done this before!)

This is Miss. P's cat.  The cat she left with us when she moved out. Moo is a total crankypants. She's the most temperamental cat I've ever met. She'll love you one moment and without warning the next she's trying to scratch your eyeballs out. She's also very camera shy and spends a laod of time outside by her own choice.

It's hard to believe this little cutie....

became a monster the size of a Shetland pony .

I swear Indy has ADD. He chases leaves and anything else that flies including shadows. I watched him one day play tag with a dragon fly for about 20 minutes. He thinks the  world is a playground. He also has an almost human sense of humour-kind of like a 12 year old kid. Goofy.

Mordecai is well known for pulling cute faces and being my resident quilt inspector. If I am making a new quilt he has to roll all over it-every single time he walks near it. Once a quilt is done he's on the prowl looking for the next new quilt. I suspect this is much less about him appreciating my quilting prowess and more about his need to put his cat stink hormone on everything.

And this little Miss

is the dog that picked us. We had no idea she was coming home with us but apparently she had it planned from day 1. And she has no sense of humour whatsoever but she does like to pull sad faces in the hope I'll feed her jelly beans. She's also well known for being a bed hog. She likes to sleep under the covers.

I can't imagine our house without multiple sets of four legs in it although it would be nice to have clean floors for longer than 5 minutes. I guess grubby floors is a small price to pay for all that unconditional love.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Such cuties! Don't think I could handle two dogs and two cats though. Must make for interesting times .. do they all get along?

P.S. wish you hadn't said that about putting cat stink hormones on the quilts. I was thinking they did that to spend time with me and appreciate my hard work. Do you think it washes out??

What a fun menagerie you've got going on. I loved hearing about their personalities.

Our pup has just given up hope of being noticed, and sleeps on the couch- the kids are too old to drop Cheerios on the floor anymore so his best days are behind him, I guess! Poor guy, i am going to give him a good scratch right now....

Love the jelly bean pic :-)

I had a german shorthaired pointer when I was growing up. Lovely dog. I was going to do the new baby this week later today though but she is so black none of the photo's are good but next week she goes to the parlor for her first trim and she won't be cute anymore. The cats don't do it for me we had siamese when I was growing up and that scared me for life lol.

Oh, I'm a kitty lover and I already LOVE your kitties!!!

Life wouldn't be complete without some kitty love! (and doggy love too, but we don't have a dog)

I love the picture of Mordecai, but they are all cute. I'm allergic to animal dander, so we can't keep pets in the house, much to Kiddo's sorrow.

Whoa! 2 cats and 2 dogs! They are all very cute, love the pic of the bed hog waiting for her jelly bean! Does she only like one colour in particular or is that you?

Hi Shay

I've just popped over from Granny Loz's blog. I read your first post and just love your humour! I look forward to catching up with your blog (when I get to work... he he!)and enjoying more of your 'tell it how it is' take on life.

I didn't know you had pets!?! Thanks for the introduction! Biscuit says hello, too (he's my yellow lab and he's been begging me to bring home a canine friend because he fear his rep has been ruined from hanging out with my simpleton cat).

Who knew you had such a fun bunch of furry friends?! They're so cute and it sounds like they've got personality galore. Makes sense that Indy would chase anything that moves--he's a German shorthair right? They're great bird hunting dogs around here.

Oh..how cute..and I finally get to see the cats too.. well I met the dogs before...to cute. And I am amazed you can keep up with four pets. We only have one ag and I already am disgusted about all the dirt she brings in.

Gorgeous 'furry, fourlegged family'.It's amazing how they have distinct personalities of their own.The house is lonely when they aren't there I can tell you.
Lovely favourites!!
P.S Sorry i was in such a rush I forgot to add your link.

Gorgeous four leg family - those dogs sure look spoiled. Cute kitties.
Clean floors are definitely overrated.

Your fur-babies are so cute....I think no garden is also the price we pay for having so many lovlies :-) BTW those tortieshell cats are known for being complete bitches, so she is not going to change...aren't you lucky ;-)

Love all four of your fur babies, and a special spot for Moo, as she sucked up to me big time, and not once did she get all crankypants with me. I'm not offering to adopt though, I have my hands full with my 3.
Love the photo of Lola looking all sad waiting for a jelly bean.
I think they are all very lucky to have such a wonderful mum.

Moo sounds like she belongs to Miss P. A mind of her own...:)

As for the others, well, sorry Mordacai, cats don't impress me much.

But Indy and Lola, I may come visit you one day because I want to meet you in person as much as I want to meet your mama! You're beautiful (and I'll bring jelly beans)!

I didn't even know the names of your cats! I loved this post, shay!

They really are adorable - can you tell us how Lola ended up at your house? Does she like black jelly beans? those are my personal faves, but I don't know if anise would be a flavor that dogs would enjoy.....

do your cats catch mice or birds when they're outside? My parents are always coming across chipmunks or their cats latest toy (she's an outside cat, and a great "mouser"). Her name is Kitty. very original.

thanks for sharing the rest of your family with us!

Your dogs are really pretty. I can totally see why you spoil them. Interesting that you are both a cat and a dog person. I'm not a big fan of cats, but yours are really pretty. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with you Shay. Life without pets would be very boring indeed. I love the welcome you get when you come home.

I love the photos of all of your pets. Pets are so much fun and so much trouble at the same time. Just like kids, you gotta love em!

I would take photos of my kitties, but they are usually outside creating trouble!

I think I might have linked up to you for the first time ever!!

I couldn't agree with you more Shay - who needs clean floors anyhow? Lol (though it would be nice). What a cute gang - I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a small zoo :-)

Thank goodness Dexter has hair/fur the same color as the hardwood floors in my house! LOL

Couldn't imagine life without our pets. They bring great joy. What an adorable bunch you have, Shay. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday! :o)
