It's Showdown weekend. I understand. Since I finished my footy quilt, my team hasn't lost a game. But you'll have to rush to get it finished in time for the game.
Hmmmm wrong colours Shay! I seem to remember this morning you saying you were going to work on your zigzag quilt, and cut more fabric for paper piecing. I even have the email as proof. Looking at the pics - you have worked on the zig zag since Tuesday so I'll let you off on that one, but what were you thinking........black red and yellow, so not the right colours!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you not know that they have just discovered a new strain of ADHD, it's called AQD (attention quilters disorder) and a closely linked one ACD (attention crafters disorder) they have also linked those two with CPD (compulsive purchasing disorder) and CARWYB (causing a riot with your buddy) and finally I think you know the D&D one... but we'll make that GWWD&D (giggling wildly whilst drunk and disorderly) - see, you're not alone - there are many of us AQD ACD CPD CARWYD GWWD&D out there :0)
Nothing like the rush of a new project, got myself some more sherbet pips this week and I am starting a new quilt, and pattern testing at the same time, so I had to start a new project didn't I..... and I assure you I have lots of other things I should be attending to... still avoiding, though I have got most of my photo's ready to go.
I really don't see the problem...every day is a good day to start something new...now what was I doing?...oh bugger it, I'll just find something else...
Distracted? How are the creative juices to run if one doesn't.....I sometimes wake up with designs going around in my head....putting them to fabric is something else though....I love, love the dreden. finish it up for show and tell!
Because you are disorganized, unable to finish things, compulsive, easily distracted and so on...but who cares...did you have fun starting your new project? Well than everything is o.k.
It will all be there waiting on you when you're ready to start up on those projects again. In the meantime, enjoy the fun your new project is bringing. :o) Happy Sunday!
I have the same problem. Today I decided to finish up some projects and put them on ETSY. Finished a couple, but somehow I still want to start something(s) new. Who knows. Mabye when I run out of fabric? I'm on a no-shopping deal, but I think I could do way too much with what I already have. Sigh....
I love your label "attention span of a gnat". I can relate. And as a reader, I've gotta say it is more fun to see you working on lots of things simultaneously than one project for weeks on end, so keep on jumping around, I say!
what is the new project? I love all the different things you are doing. It is really inspiring/encouraging for me. At least you go back to the other things at some point (that's what the PhD challenge is about, right). I strive to be more like you.
Not sure about there - but the sun made an appearance here and changed the whole mood - something new is just the thing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new project.

ReplyDeleteJust because you can!!! I kept going back to your gorgeous dresden plate quilt. Love it! At least you know you don't suffer this affliction alone lol.
ReplyDeleteYou just have a little "Quilters ADD" - perfectly normal!
ReplyDeleteI really don't see the problem...every day is a good day to start something new...now what was I doing?...oh bugger it, I'll just find something else...
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is a good day to start a new project! :) All I can say is that you're not going to find any new project police around here.

ReplyDeleteBlame it on ADD...there is a 'syndrome' for everything these days, I am sure we all suffer from some thing thant can be treated by a shrink!
ReplyDeleteSame reason I always do, it is to prevent boredom!!!

ReplyDeleteHope your weekend has been great!
Glad to see I am not the only one who does this :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to start something new when you're close to finishing the things you're working on. That way, you'll never be bored.
