Christmas is like your wedding day ....

You spend weeks preparing for it and it's over in the blink of an eye. A blink of an eye during which you run around like  a mad person, eat too much ham and if you're the Pyjamas Clan gallop around from place to place trying to appease as many family members as possible with your shining presence.

Highlights of our day included:

Yummy Breakfast -organised by Mr. P

Caramel Popcorn courtesy of a recipe from P at The Way I Sew It. It was a big hit. Thanks P.

Little P instigating the annual Pyjamas Clan water fight yesterday.  Actually he had a water fight with himself and a trigger hose and learnt about cause and effect. Yes- if you press the trigger when you're facing the hose towards you - you will get blasted by water spray. It's good to know he's all for tradition. Sorry no pictures- because I was too busy laughing.

Mr. P opening "Futurama" and getting excited about the  prospect of being able to sit and watch 38 solid hours of TV because  I gave my permission for him to do exactly that by giving him this gift . I think he's already on episode 14.

.

Miss Pyjamas Pyjamas. I think she's fabulous all the time.

Miss P all excited because I actually knew what her favourite perfume was. When will she learn I'm her mother and  I know everything?

Guess who is going to the Kellie Wulfsohn 2 day workshop next year? Hopefully I'll remember to brush my hair before I go. Isn't my husband thoughtful? He's already planning what to do with two whole days to himself. It was hard to tell who was more excited.

Little P's electric train was a BIG hit.  He spent the afternoon trying to run us all over and tooting the horn every 5 seconds.

My Mum " But how do you work this webcam dodad ?"

My sister apparently saw this and fell to her knees in thanks in the middle of the shop  at having  found me the perfect present.

Sister of Pyjamas being amazed at my craftiness.

Extreme Sports.  That's my sister in law and Miss P playing totem tennis and working off lunch and dinner (which was mostly chocolate )

I completely forgot to take pictures of the food because I was too busy eating. We had lamb , beef and pork roasted on a spit , ham and salads, and Weber Pavlova's with mango and strawberries.

I was quite thankful when 10.00 pm arrived and Mr. P and I found ourselves alone at home doing the "peace" part of Christmas watching Futurama on DVD and falling asleep on the lounge until 4.30am then staggering off to bed.

And now, I'm looking forward to a couple of days of playing around in my sewing room working on some of these.

I hope your day was Merry and Bright. I'm kind of glad that's done for another year and that we all survived. Next stop - 2011!

P.S. It's 3.40 pm and I'm still in my pyjamas . No point getting out of them now right?

Thanks for sharing your day with us and for the wonderful comment on my blog earlier. It has been a particularly tough Christmas for me this year. One of my sons is getting divorced and acting like an idiot. Traditions are changing and family loyalties rather screwed up. But your comment brought my role into perspective and I love it that my love for my grandchildren shines through all of the mess.

Have a blessed New Year

Yes, it is over quickly! Which pleases me no end. (Really couldn't do more of Christmas I think!) I am now thinking about 2011. Goals? Plans? I'm thinking....

You will have a lovely time at the Kelli Wulfsohn class! (Mr P may be excited about his alone time, but I know who will have the better time. After all, which one of you will be quilting? Nuff said.)

It sounds and looks like you had a great day, despite it going so fast. My day was very Merry and Bright. My morning was hectic but the rest of it went like a breeze, and we were so lucky with the weather, not too hot, not too wet (that cyclone/tropical depression stayed away), only a couple of very light showers and a fabulous day spent with family and friends. I wish all my Christmases were that good.
Thank you for sharing all your photos, I had every intention of doing the same but didn't take one photo all day. I remembered when we were almost finished eating, too late.
Are you getting younger? Have you found the fountain of youth, you look gorgeous in your Christmas attire, and pretty darn good opening your pressies in your PJ's.
I love your Dresden plate, you are working so quickly on them, can't wait to see more.
Hope you had a lovely day today. Looking forward to more of your adventures in 201. I am so pleased I found your blog this year, it has been the most wonderful year getting to know you and having such a laugh together, especially in those early morning emails.

I think I spoke to your wonderful hubby at the shop. You will love the work shop. I'm glad it is over not sure why we do it each year I will have to lay on the bed and do my jeans up with a coat hanger for weeks to come.

Looks like you had a fabulous day and thank goodness today was a PJ day I say as well, I only got changed to go and check out the creek and then had a shower and back into the PJs!
We awoke to Cyclone Tasha and had 4in of rain in about 2 hours. Our creek covered the bridge so we did a little happy dance around the kitchen and had a relaxing morning with the kids opening pressies and watching the weather channel. We went for a drive to check out the bridge and my neighbour texted pictures of her bridge and the creek for me :-) Family and friends were able to visit after 3:00 so I got out of hosting the family lunch and presents were delivered and everyone raced home before the creek went over again. Couldn't have asked for a better day :-) Billy just informed me we have had over 500ml of rain already this month, I think I am getting webbed feet :-)

I wish I had had the foresight to at the very least charge my camera up before Christmas - you may have forgotten to take photos of the food but that's still one up from me forgetting to take photos of the whole day...

Looks like a fabulous Christmas day! It's so cool the your guy supports your quilty hobby.

I totally get the madly visiting eveyone. we start out in Oklahoma on Christmas Eve and end Christmas afternoon in southern Missouri (about 5 hours in the car). But we got fried chicken at my Mom's, then ham and turkey at my MIL's. (I'm now convinced that New Year's is the next weekend after Christmas so we are keenly aware of the 10 lbs we gained over the holidays!).

Enjoy your sewing time! Great Dresdan plate. Can't wait to see more!

I am so insanely jealous of that little piece of paper!!! I wish our holiday crap was done, but we have TWO celebrations left. (That's what divorce does- multiplies Christmas.)

But the day itself went well here. All children ate candy for breakfast and played hours of video games. And whined. I went to bed at 6:30. That's a tradition that I wouldn't mind continuing.

And again I write you an email in which I should have just checked to see if you posted! :)

So excited to see all of your family and all of the fun you had! Would have loved to have seen pics of all of your exotic food, but the breakfast will suffice as it looks delish and was cooked by a man! :)

Happy that your day was great - even happier that you have some time to recover!

I think our day was the longest on record
starting with Christmas eve - hosting a brunch for 27, putting together furniture for the girls bedroom until 11pm - being woken at 5:55 by excited kids Christmas morning, leaving at 9:30pm to drive all night and arrive 10 hours later at 7:30am (the day after Christmas) -

Sounds like you had a marvelous time and got, and gave, some great gifts! For Christmas all I got was my very own laptop. How exciting is that! No more fighting with the Taradiddle teens over the computer when I want to blog, or play games, or watch what I want to watch on Netflix (Doctor Who reruns anyone?)

Looks and sounds like a fun Christmas! I had to Google Kellie W. to see what that was about, since I wasn't familiar with her, but now that I know, I'm excited for you!

I'm glad that all seems to have gone well for the Pyjamas clan on Christmas. Must give you great joy and satisfaction to know your efforts were appreciated--always a plus!

By the way, that is a gorgeous Dresden.

Looks like lots of fun at your house! I still can't get over Christmas in the middle of summer! Although, since I got a cool badminton set, I am wishing it was warmer here - or at least the snow was off the grass so we could play.

Looks like a terrific holiday for all--and that your craftiness was definitely appreciated! I haven't experience a water fight on Christmas ever but it did rain here and my brother barbecued our filet mignons under the patio umbrella! I stayed in my pyjamas on Christmas until it was time to dress for dinner. It was bliss!

I gave my husband all 4 seasons of Everybody Hates Chris, and all of a sudden he is a couch potato (instead of a computer potato). Fine except the kids like to watch with him and have been going around the house singing, "Everybody Ha-ates Chrissssss". I'm going to have to hide it. Or feed it to the dog. What was I thinking? I'm glad your Christmas was merry and bright!
