Can you imagine the terror that was struck into the hearts of children everywhere when they saw this less than two weeks into their 7 week summer break?
School doesn't go back until January 31st and we haven't got through Christmas yet. Ridiculous.
They had gotten rid of the Christmas stuff today at my shops and replaced it with back to school stuff , eeeeek ! Merry Christmas to my mad friend and your family , xxx .
When I was working at Spotlight we made a point of always being the first with any "event" sales, to the point where Christmas stuff was arriving into the store in June and July just in case we had to rush it out because someone else started displaying theirs.
I don't know about your store but ours is having 50% off all quilting fabrics on boxing day. I don't need school stuff any more but that's a sure way to get me to go in.
It's a crazy world. One in which we can never really relax and enjoy the moment we are in. Always some advertising company is promoting the next moment before the first has properly happened!
For someone who grew up going to school in the US, it's just freaky to think about summer break being over Christmas. But it's no different here in terms of back to school, the kids get out the end of May and about 4th of July the back to school adds start. Typically the kids go back to school in early August.
LOL! Since my boys homeschool through a public/State charter, they began receiving their textbooks and school supplies in late June. Their last day of school was June 3rd. They were definitely freaked out about it! :o)
Oh aren't you happy happy that those days are over? Here in Ontario, our Christmas holidays have begun as of Monday and not till Tuesday of the New Year do the children go back to school. the "summer" holidays are july and August returning after Labour Day. Wierd that Christmas and Summer holidays are now for you! Merry christmas.
I wanted to comment on this, but I wasn't exactlyl sure what it was you got in the mail; if it was something from the school system or an ad from some company ... anyway, being forced to think about going back to school when you've just gotten out is just wrong. Summer is never long enough! hope your Chirtmas Eve Eve is going well.
Here in Canada, we have a commercial for an office supply company, which runs through the summer months, to the tune of "It's the most wonderful time of the year." But it's never the children in the commercial who are looking happy. LOL
Aaaargh, surely not! It would have struck dread in my heart too, when I worked in the education system.
ReplyDeleteToo funny, dont worry the hot cross buns will be on the shelves on Monday!
ReplyDeleteLoving your new header sweet, very fancysmancie.

ReplyDeleteMelissa beat me to the punch...I figure a week maybe before the Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns appear.
