I can't believe it's week 4 already! This week even with the arrival of my sister , my way over the top shopping expedition and the ongoing kerfuffle with the renovation, I managed to get some snowball heaven happening.
I have to say I really get in the zone when I'm making these...it's almost hypnotic. Karen's tip about not cutting the thread after each snowball is sewn on , is actually awesome. Yes- I admit I was a doubting Thomas at first but you can call me Miss Converted. It really does save time. It cracks me up that it takes longer to press them all nicely than it does to sew them. Wayyyyyyyyyyy longer.

46 Snowballs. Ta Dah! (Yes, I'm showing off- but not too much because I haven't squared any of this lot up yet )
94 Snowballs done. Yay! 74 to go. I think once this lot are squared up I need to have a peek at what they're all going to look like when they get put together...
Woo-hoo! That is great progress. And they are sooo pretty. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love the colour you have chosen for the small squares.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have finished yours I'll send you mine so you can finish those too, lol.
I was going to do that 'go' chant, you know the on where you insert the person's name, but I couldn't think of a variation of your blog persona name that fit in there except for 'jammies' and I wasn't sure if you wanted me chanting 'Go Jammies' all over your comments. So I'll go with the slightly less cool, YOU GO, GIRL! Wohoo! That is going to be a seriously pretty quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh, and pressing does take waayyyy longer. What is up with that?
Looking good, you deserve to be pleased. What fabric are you using, its really pretty?

Great progress, in spite of everything else you've had going on! Something about your pretty fabric makes me think of ice cream--strawberry, chocolate, mint chocolate chip, etc. Totally yummy.
ReplyDeleteThat is looking pretty damn good!! Isn't it always the fiddly little bits that take so long!
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll ....they do look pretty.......leaving the blocks joined also works a treat for four patch blocks ..they fit together really well especially good if you are working with small blocks.
ReplyDeleteSure feels like snow around these parts - glad you are using this time to make these pretties.
ReplyDeleteSure you gotta check and see what they will look like all together. Well done on this weeks super express sewing.
Pretty pretty pretty! I love chain piecing and it sure does save time and thread in a surprising amount. I am a Person Who Pins though, and that adds time, but so be it! You are whipping through this project wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteWow! You amaze me. I simply adore the colors you're using!
